The Eastside Egg Co-op is currently recruiting new members (article below from today’s Oregonian).
Does anyone know of any egg co-operatives in NE?

What: A flock of chickens in the city, tended by urbanites hungry for a slice of farm life — and really good eggs Where: Zenger Farm, Southeast Foster Road, in the Lents neighborhood
Why: Offer training to would-be chicken tenders and access to fresh eggs to anyone willing to work
Details: Members commit to one year of weekly dawn or dusk work shifts (about an hour) and receive a share of eggs. Monthly membership fee of $5 to $10, plus mandatory orientation meeting and training. Occasional work parties to move the coop to a newly cleared field.
Portland angle: Vanilla Bicycles’ owner Sacha White helped design the compact chicken coop with wheels.
Sign up: New members being recruited for second season, beginning June 21. Send e-mail to Holly McGuire and Patrick Barber at egghead@henwaller.com
Or check out this video about them by Cooking Up A Story.
I wish Salt Lake had something like this! My friend has a neighborhood chicken co-op with his neighbors, and that’s pretty cool. But I’m not part of it, so that’s not cool.
